"The present work is a modest effort to reproduce approximately, in modern measurers, the venerable epic, Beowulf. Approximately, I repeat: for a very close reproduction of Anglo-Saxon verse would, to a large extent, be prose to a modern ear. The Heyne-Socian text and glossary have been closely followed. Occasionally a deviation has been made, but always or what seemed good and sufficient reason..."

 Hardcover, Published 1908 By D. C. Heath & Co., Publishers, Boston,  6 1/2 by 8 3/8 inches, 110 pages. 

Condition: . The cover and spine shows some wear.  The pages are  generally very good with these exceptions. There is a small tear repair on the first, few pages and a tiny tear repair on the bottom of the first page near the gutter. A few words have been underlined in pencil on the first page .
